The Essential Oils We Use and Why We Choose Them

Essential oils have been part of The Natural Deodorant from the beginning. They give many of our products their naturally derived scent, allowing us to create everything from fresh citrus and woody blends to soft florals without relying on synthetic fragrances.

We use only 100% essential oils to scent our products, not commercial-grade oils or synthetic fragrances. This has always been an important part of keeping our formulations simple and carefully considered.

Over the years, we've chosen different essential oils and combinations to complement our deodorant, face and body care products. Some have become familiar favourites that have been part of our range for many years.

Here's a little more about the essential oils you'll find throughout The Natural Deodorant range.

Lavender & Tea Tree

Fresh, clean and herbaceous, Lavender & Tea Tree is one of our signature Natural Deodorant scent blends.

Lavender brings its familiar soft floral scent, while Tea Tree adds a fresh, distinctly Australian character. Together, they create a clean and balanced scent that's easy to wear every day.

You'll find this blend in our Natural Deodorant Stick, Natural Deodorant Jar and Mini Travel Tin.

Lime, Neroli & Cedarwood

If you prefer something fresh with a little warmth, Lime, Neroli & Cedarwood combines three very different scent notes.

Lime provides the bright citrus notes, Neroli adds a softer floral element, and Cedarwood brings a warm, woody base.

It's another of our signature deodorant blends and is available across our Natural Deodorant Stick, Jar and Mini Travel Tin.

Patchouli & Ylang Ylang

Patchouli & Ylang Ylang is our richer, earthier deodorant scent.

Patchouli has a distinctive deep, earthy scent, while Ylang Ylang brings a sweeter floral note. Together they create a warm blend with a little more depth than our lighter citrus and herbal scents.

Rosalina

Rosalina is an Australian native plant sometimes known as Lavender Tea Tree, with a subtle scent that sits somewhere between the familiar aromas of lavender and tea tree.

We use Rosalina essential oil in one version of our Bi-Carb Free Sensitive Deodorant Stick, giving customers with sensitive skin the option of a lightly scented formula.

For those who would rather avoid added scent altogether, our Sensitive range also includes Fragrance Free options.

Rose & Rose Geranium

Soft and floral, Rose & Rose Geranium is a natural fit for our face and body care range.

You'll find these beautiful floral notes in products including our Natural Face Mist and Natural Body Butter.

They provide a delicate scent without overpowering the simple formulations behind the products.

Peppermint, Lime & Bergamot

Our Natural Foot Balm calls for something a little fresher.

Peppermint provides the unmistakably cool, fresh scent, complemented by bright Lime and citrusy Bergamot. Together they create a refreshing blend that works beautifully in a balm designed especially for tired, dry feet.

Sweet Orange, Lime & Bergamot

For The Natural Balm, we combine Sweet Orange, Lime and Bergamot.

It's a bright citrus blend that complements an everyday balm designed for hands, cuticles, elbows, heels and other areas of dry skin.

Jasmine, Rose, Ylang Ylang & Lavender

Our Natural Face Balm has one of the more complex essential oil blends in the range.

Jasmine and Rose provide the floral heart of the scent, complemented by Ylang Ylang and Lavender. The result is a soft floral blend that works beautifully alongside the balm's rich combination of oils and butters.

Moroccan Rose and Magnolia & Frangipani

Our Natural Body Oil is available in two floral scent options: Moroccan Rose and Magnolia & Frangipani.

Both give the Body Oil a delicate scent while allowing the nourishing blend of Sweet Almond, Jojoba, Hemp Seed and Vitamin E oils to remain the focus of the product.

What about Fragrance Free products?

Natural doesn't necessarily have to mean scented.

We know some people prefer products without added scent, particularly when choosing products for sensitive skin. That's why we also offer Fragrance Free options within our deodorant range.

Our Bi-Carb Free Sensitive Formula was developed specifically as a gentler alternative for people who find traditional bi-carb deodorants irritating, with Fragrance Free options available for those who prefer to keep things as simple as possible.

The philosophy behind The Natural Deodorant has always been fairly simple: choose ingredients carefully and create products that do what they're meant to do.

Essential oils are one part of that story.
